Strafford County Public Health Network(SCPHN) will join communities around the nation in participating in National Public Health Awareness Week from April 2 – April 8.  The organization and its partners have announced a weeklong calendar of health related events and activities designed to improve the overall health of our communities and bring awareness to the resources available through the Regional Public Health Network.

Public Health Week is a time to celebrate the contributions of public health and highlight issues that are important to improving the overall health of residents,” says Corinna Moskal, Continuum of Care Manager “We are excited to leverage this national campaign to highlight all that we do locally.”

The week includes many events that connect people with opportunities to get involved in local public health programs or personally connect with an opportunity to improve personal wellness.  For example, April 2 is ‘Open Fitness Day’. Six fitness gyms have partnered with the Strafford County Public Health Network to open there doors to let residence experience free workouts.  “It is our belief that all citizens in Strafford County have a right to physical Activity that is affordable and accessible,” says Moskal.
