National Night Out (NNO) takes place all over the country to help prevent crime and strengthen community spirit. National Night Out events, like the one in Somersworth, provide opportunities to meet neighbors as well as the police and firemen that help keep us safe. There will be food, activities, and music. Some activities include a dunking booth and pie eating contest. Somersworth night Out is free and all friends, family and neighbors are welcome. Local organizations will be present to provide resources and information on available services in the community.

“Somersworth Night Out is a great way to get families out of the house for low-cost/no-cost family fun,” says Mark Rideout, SO/RO Coalition Chair. “We are hoping that this will become an annual event with broad support and attendance from the community.”

Somersworth Night Out was planned to coincide with the Somersworth Festival Associations (SFA) Wednesday night Kids Koncert series. In addition to all of the Night Out attractions, attendees can also catch SFA’s “Wildlife Encounters” at 6pm at the Festival Pavilion on Memorial Drive.

Somersworth Night Out is sponsored by the SO/RO Coalition, Somersworth Police Department, ONE Voice for Strafford County, Goodwin Community Health, and PeopleCare. For questions and additional detail contact Jen Payne at 603-692-3131
