The Fifth Annual Father’s Day 5K at Margaritas is Sunday, June 15, 2014. Registration for the event is open. Runners and walkers of all ages and abilities are invited to celebrate fatherhood at this family-friendly run/walk presented by Pelmac Industries of New Hampshire. Proceeds from the event help the most vulnerable members of our community gain access to desperately needed health care by minimizing financial barriers to doctors, dentists and mental health professionals through Goodwin Community Health.
The Father’s Day 5K is a fun race, on a certified course, complete with margaritas-style food and fiesta. Participants celebrate fatherhood by wearing a necktie to honor the dads, brothers and sons who touch their lives. It is the sixth race in the Dover Race Series, a new series of eleven Dover races sponsored by Wentworth Douglass Hospital.
“We are expecting this year’s race to break all attendance records. We had 500 runners last year but are planning on up to 1,000 this year,” says Lara Willard, Community Relations Director for Goodwin Community Health. “A morning run on a beautiful course, followed by a Margaritas breakfast fiesta is a great way to kick-off Father’s Day and a fun new tradition for hundreds of local families.”
Beginner and seasoned runners/walkers can visit http://goodwinch.org/fathers-day-5k-2014/ or http://www.active.com/dover-nh/running/races/father-s-day-5k-at-margaritas-2014 for details and registration.
